The 27th Letter, now available on Apple Music/iTunes, Bandcamp, Spotify, and wherever else you get your music...

Chris Cachia waxes both lyrical and philosophical on his latest project, The 27th Letter. Meticulously crafted, the 5-track EP witnesses Cachia’s commanding flow, mastery of language, and penchant for Hip Hop with a higher consciousness. Rhyme aficionados, take notice.

A prolific emcee, Cachia’s skillful songwriting abilities and producer Charlie McEvoy’s musical artistry are here on full display. “Good and Evil,” a complex story-telling banger, sets a forceful, boom-bap tone for the album and addresses activism, dualism, and inequality. This duality is further explored on “Inside and Outside,” an introspective yet rapid-fire cut that evidences the mastery of rhyme patterns for which Cachia is known. The project’s lead single, “Hot and Cold,” then brazenly brings Cachia’s bravado to the fore over a cinematic and sinister soundscape. The hermetic leanings of Cachia’s musical output continue with “Above and Below,” a hard-hitting track ripe with dense lyricism that explores the unity and struggle of opposites. The project’s final offering, “Bars and Bass,” is “boundless brilliance” as its conversational start gives way to bars upon bars (and bass upon bass) of classic-sounding Hip Hop.
